BEST PACKAGING SOLUTION FOR ANY PRODUCT TYPE

As a result of a test, the pallet collar was recognised as the most reliable and practical packaging type. Besides a pallet collar, six types of packaging solutions were tested during the comparative test: a cardboard box, a plastic box, a wooden box, a plywood box, disposable plywood packaging, and a metal box.
A comparative test of seven types of packaging showed that the wooden pallet collar is significantly superior to other types of packaging solutions in 21 criteria.
A total of 22 parameters were compared, including parameters such as:
- protection of the goods;
- compliance with the standards;
- lifespan of the packaging;
- possibility of reuse and resale;
- compliance with the requirements in relation to container shipping;
- possibilities for placing goods;
- convenience of use, and other parameters.
Regarding two criteria — the resale value and the use of empty packaging for delivery over long distances — the pallet collar was superior to all other types of packaging solutions.
On the other hand, the only parameter in which the pallet collar was inferior to the cardboard box, was the price, as this type of packaging does not belong to the low-price segment.
